Sky Max Pod not working/activated

I received Sky Max Broadband and Max Sky Pod last week. The broadband is working though not entirely stable.

The Max Pod connected for 5 mins then went to Red and Green Flashing lights. When I went to the fix page it told me to go to broadband settings, but in the settings they are greyed out as not activated. Yet we've been active since 17th Jan.

I work from home and can't even take a video call without it cutting out or freezing. Not exactly good for Fibre 500!!!

@Mikey4105 to clarify the hub and pod settings are in the My Sky app not in the web interface. The pods need a good connection to the hub so try the unit roughly half way between the hub and where you need the boost. When I had the pods I pluged them in intially close to the hub and let them connect and update. Inthen moved them to a more useful position.

If still stuck call Sky as they should arrange for a broadband engineer to visit.

Re: Sky Max Pod not working/activated

@Mikey4105 Hi did you manage to get this sorted? We have had gigafast plus installed and having the same issue, tried everything, going to have to ring sky, we can not get WiFi in one part of the house which I could with superfast, my son gets about 800Mbps, next son 200 Mbps and my daughter nothing, I've placed the pod in the hallway and it's just permanently red.

I've tried placing the pod closer nothing, I even have trouble with my pet camera and tv which is in the same room as the hub, it's driving me mad trying to sort it, turned it off at the wall, tried a new ethernet to the hub, reset it.

@Vickib7 your Gigsfsst+ service includes Sky's WiFi Max package where Sky will send out a broadband engineer who can agree to sending up to more pods.

The pods communicate with the hub using a closed 5GHz signal which means in some homes with solid internal walls there can be issues. It is also sensible to consider moving the hub if the fibre ONT is in a corner etc you can buy and use a longer Ethernet cable to link to the new Hub 7 which needscto be out in the open ideally on a surface above obstructions like radiators, Speeds ove r 100Mb/s are more than adequate for 95% of normal usage - only downloads improve noticeably with higher speeds.
