@IG4 that is my point the Sky Max hub is simply not set up for your use case. According to Sky and I havve no reason not to believe them the vast msjotitybof users make no changes to the settings. A few users want to set up something simple like a game server anything beyond that they do not offer support.

Re: Sky Max Hun Port Fowarding With Devices with same name

i have come to the conclusion that the Sky Max Router is the worst thing ever.  Its not a case that its locked down.  Its just very poor development.  Its by far the worst thing I have seen in many years

Sky, your a con job!!!!

Shame on you, I should have gone with EE

Re: Sky Max Hun Port Fowarding With Devices with same name

@JimM1 , thanks for the link, its very helpful

I checked my router web interface and I have a field for "MAP-T Sharing Ratio", the WAN IP Address (IPv4) is just an IPv4 address

So it should work on my router, just a shame I cant remove devices without doing a router hard reset

Re: Sky Max Hun Port Fowarding With Devices with same name

I have a TP Link Deco S7 home mesh network, I dont suppose anybody has used this as the main router.  Im not sure if this is even possible, but just thought it could be an option.  Or would I need to keep the Sky router to get the services

Re: Sky Max Hun Port Fowarding With Devices with same name

@IG4 You only need a Sky Hub if you have to connect a Landline Phone for telephone connection and if you have a Fibre Connection issue as sky need to see there hub on the line to go check what is going on! After that no need, my Asus XT8 is direct on the ONT from OR, SR203 is back in it's box!

Deco is all app driven i think, DHCP router mode is what you are looking at, until you give it a bash but there are a few postings off some success getting them on and operating!

Re: Sky Max Hun Port Fowarding With Devices with same name

Hi

I just thought.  I still have my old BT Hub 2 router.  I know I cant use it as a router now that im with Sky.  But can I use it as my Port forwarder, as this hub has great port forwarding and still has my configuration.   Can I set a port forward on my Sky Max Hub to forward all traffic to my BT Hub 2, which then does the port forwarding (if required).

I have disabled DHCP on my BT Hub 2, so basically it will just act as a switch

Anybody tried this?

Re: Sky Max Hun Port Fowarding With Devices with same name

@IG4 You will need to read up on the double NAT, lan to lan connect both devices and get your BT in the DMZ for it all to work, sky will still issue all the DHCP to devices that require them! Link below will help and guide you!
