Sky Max Hub

Hi, I have recently changed to the Sky Max hub and my printer will not connect to the access point. Any ideas?

@IanD3 it could be thst your printer requires a single band 2.4GHz wifi connection. Sky tell us that the Wifi Max set up does not offer the ability to split the wifi bands that their other hubs do. The possible work round would be to turn off the 5GHz band on the hub which you can do in the app AFAiK connect the printer and then turn the 5GHz band back on and hope it stays connected.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: Sky Max Hub

Hi Chirsee,

Msny thanks for your reply. I've turned 5HZ off leaving 2.4HZ however still no connection to the printer. Same messsge, failed to connect to the access point. The previous hub worked fine with it.

Unfortunately the Max Hub is substantially different under the hood to any previous Sky router, and has some issues which Sky are yet to reslove.

Hi @IanD3

Thanks for highlighting this issue.

What's the name and model of your printer?  We recently introduced an option to switch the security from WPA3 to WPA2, can you try this and let us know how you get on?

Thanks

Re: Sky Max Hub

Hi Kev,

Thanks for this, the printer is a Canon 3500 series. I'm thinking of switching back to the previous router as internet is dropping out a lot.
