Sky Max Hub delivery

My broadband activation date is set for 3rd July. I still have not seen any update to the Sky Max Hub dispatch order in the order status. I wonder if Sky will ever get my the router delivered before the engineer visit on 3rd July. Is it common? I tried to reach out to them via Virtual chat. But that AI agent is hopeless!

@Subash+Krishna  Hub normally arrive a couple of days prior to going live, so there is still time to receive it.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Sky Max Hub delivery

The Sky customer service said the engineer will bring it with them. Today is the installation date. Not hopeful about the installation going forward today though

@Subash+Krishna

That is not the usual means of delivery. I doubt that will happen.

Re: Sky Max Hub delivery

For every day's delay in completing the installation, Sky compensates the customer. £6.49 or something like that. I will wait for them to get their mess sorted out. There is absolutely no update from Sky on a. Engineer visit scheduled for today between 8 am and 12 noon b. the router, which the customer service told me - would be brought in by the engineer, which is hard to believe.

Will be happy if it gets delayed by a month - so I can get £200 😀

@Subash+Krishna

The reason for the question marks after your post about compensation was the fact the the installation date hasnt even passed yet.

Re: Sky Max Hub delivery

😊. Hope can kill people! I have given up. I have been chasing the customer service for the past 1 week thanks to my VIP helpline, and none of them have been able to track where the router is. And eventually they told me y'day that the engineer would bring it with them. And usually we get a text message on the morning on an Engineer visit, heard nothing so far. So, signs are not good. So, I am at peace now. Will start counting the compensation from 12:01 PM onwards. 😂

@Subash+Krishna

What does your account show now regarding this ?

The installation should still go ahead because when it does turn up it should just be a case of connecting it to the ONT via the supplied cable and plugging it into the mains.

Re: Sky Max Hub delivery

It says 'In progress' And

Arrival Date and Time: Friday 3rd July 8AM to 1PM.

And the status shows this:

On the Day:

A Sky engineer will visit your home within the confirmed time slot to install your Sky Broadband.

Someone over 18 (who can approve any work needed) needs to be home for the full time slot and few hours after – just in case they arrive near the end of the slot.

Not home yourself? Try to keep your mobile free in case they need to call you.

Good to know: You might be charged £25 on your next bill if you miss your appointment or call to cancel or reschedule on the day or day before your appointment.

I do really want to get it done today, that's my hope. But reality could be that I will be disappointed. I hope I am wrong.

Re: Sky Max Hub delivery

The text message I received from Openreach last week said, their team was still working on the FTTP installation. However, I checked the status on this url. https://www.openreach.com/fibre-checker and it says - Available to order now with 1600 mbps download speed and 115 mbps upload speed. - which means there is nothing pending on Openreach's end.

Even if the router is not delivered or brought in by the Sky engineer, at least the installation work could be completed, as scheduled.

Fingers crossed!
