Re: Sky Hub Slow Flashing Green Light, No Internet For Over An Hour So Far
@JonKB there appears to be an outage in Cornwall so if you live there that maybe the explanation. The service checker is not instant and often miises recent loss of service but it will tell you if Sky are aware of an issue affecting your line if it doesn't then call Sky to report the loss of service.

Re: Sky Hub Slow Flashing Green Light, No Internet For Over An Hour So Far
As far as I could work out flashing green light means you are connected and router is working but something on the internet system away from your house is not set up right or has failed in some way.
Hopefully by now Sky has learnt not to try to fix the problem by sending a replacement router as that's a waste of time.
My opinion is that the sky router is over complex with the objective of making things easier for user but with the result that this sort of issue is more likely. However that's more of a gut feeling rather than something I have evidence for.

That is desperately disappointing as they should have learnt by now that that symptom does not indicate a faulty router but a network problem elsewhere.
It's very sad to hear this.
After my series of incidents I changed supplier even and even though the problems in our area have cleared I am still happy with my decision.

Noo it does not look good.
Of course I may well be wrong but I predict you router is fine and the BT engineer will find nothing wrong. Something is amiss outside your house in some network setup.
That is based on my experience of a similar issue.
Is your BT box got green light.?

Re: Sky Hub Slow Flashing Green Light, No Internet For Over An Hour So Far
That's to he ONT which has several lights on it and tells you far more than that light on the router.
If the lights on that are showing good and the router is flashing slow green then connection is good router ok but router cannot authenticate which is often an issue on the BT system or the Sky bits of it.
Power: Must be on. If off, check plug or power supply.
PON (Passive Optical Network):
Solid green = Good! You have a fibre signal.
Off or blinking = Connection issue.
LOS (Loss of Signal):
Off = All good.
Red/Flashing = No fibre signal – check for outages or loose cables.
LAN:
Solid or blinking = Data flowing to/from your router.
Off = Check Ethernet cable or router.

Re: Sky Hub Slow Flashing Green Light, No Internet For Over An Hour So Far
Moved to full fibre 2 weeks ago and last weekend lost connection, reboot by sky sorted it. This weekend over 90 mins on the phone and they can't sort it, flat above me same issue. Engineer booked for Tues!
No previous issues, wishing I had not opted for full fibre now!
PON light flashing so looking at these posts, its good to see that it appears to not be just me and its a connection issue!

@Alibongo54 Correct you don't want a flashing PON light!

Yes in my case Sky treated it as a failure at the premises but it was actually a fIlure in some setup in the network. The lights on that little box where the fiber comes into your house are just as important as the lights on the router. They can tell you that you have a good connection..
In my opinion especially compared to other providers. sky has tried to make the system so clever it's actually less clever when you get an unusual fault.

@grayerbeard Well said, always trust the lights and not what the stupid app or software is saying to you! 100% correct Full Fibre you got to look at all, ONT modem and the Sky Hub and ideally matching set flash Pon/ Internet out or Amber on the Hub!

Re: Sky Hub Slow Flashing Green Light, No Internet For Over An Hour So Far
One year after your post and I am having the same problem. Slow Flashing green light and no internet at all. 12 hours in this time, but it's happened twice before over the past few months. .Surely it's this Max router,? I never had this problem with the old black one. But since getting the Max hub I've had 2 hubs (now expecting third) and 2 engineer visits. Both sets of engineers confirmed the tech itself is faulty, that certain functions have to be routinely disabled as they don't work at all and actually cause problems with connectivity. Sky products appear to me to be complete trash. Definitely switching to Virgin.

Re: Sky Hub Slow Flashing Green Light, No Internet For Over An Hour So Far
After a few weeks without internet, I changed over to Virgin. Absolutely no problems with my internet since.
it's clearly an issue with Sky equipment, with no solution in the pipeline.
ditch them and go elsewhere is your best bet. Until the change the hubs again, this will continue.

Re: Sky Hub Slow Flashing Green Light, No Internet For Over An Hour So Far
Of course I may be wrong but my strong suspicion is that that problem is due to the Hub having an internet connection but being unable to authorize itself onto the sky cloud system. What often seems to happen is that Sky send you a new hub when the hub is actujally OK and what was needed was some sort of tweak in the cliver stuff in the internet routers somewhere far away from your house.
I also feel that Sky have fallen in to the trap of matrying to make the Hub "Idiot User Proof" by automating aspects that never needed to be automated .
Its the problem that I have seen many times in the last few decades. It is now possible to fit in to devices and systems much more "clever" software but the problem is that inevitably it has several unforseen and very unclever ways to go wrong. This seems to happen to the extent that you would actually be better off with simpler software. It might be just a little more onerous for the user to use but would not do silly things.
I left sky and went to Plusnet which has a Router which has avoided the issues the Sky one has by being slightly less clever .
Check the lights on the little box they will tell you if you have an internet connection. The Flashing green means , have internet cant sign in.
Note please how ever clever I may think I am I am NOT informed enough about Sky systems to know if my deductions are correct.
