Good Morning,
I've had this since we've upgraded to Gigafast Fibre, our download speeds are in the range of just 90 MB/s which is way below the promised 600 MB/s. I am not entirely sure if this conflicts with another issue where I try to download stuff I am only getting 10-15 MB/s Upload, where as I should be getting a lot more.

How are you testing the speeds? WiFi or ethernet?
Can you post a screenshot of a speedtest?

Hello,
I am testing it through ethernet directly connected to the router, I am currently unable to provide a speedtest but I will be able to later.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreOkay no probs. Can you also take a screenshot of the ethernet status on your PC. Something like I have taken below. I ask this because your 90Mbps speed quote sounds suspiciously like the PC is limited to 'Fast' ethernet which tops out at 100mbps rather than 'gigabit' ethernet which can go to 1000mbps.

I know my motherboard has a Gigabit port if that helps? I'm not entirely sure if there is some software setting which is limiting my internet speed.

Hi,
I've just checked and yes it is capped at 100/100 mbps, but for some odd reason my ethernet cable supports 1000 mbp/s

Hi,
I managed to fix it by going to properties and under "Duplex" in advanced, it was originally set to 100mbps but I had to option to select Gigabit, all sorted now, I'm getting around 728 mbp/s download and 146 mbp/s download!
Thank you very much for your help! 🙂
