Sky FTTP Upgrade Is Slow

Being a 25+ year Sky client, we upgraded Sky Superfast (67mbps?) to FTTP 150mbps recently. We have Sky TV and have found the speeds are worse than before for TV and browsing. When accessing Sky TV Guide it's delayed with a message saying "awaiting download" for the channels and can take 30 seconds before they are updated. The browsing back arrow grinds to a halt for 10 - 15 secs and can show screen freezing. Our CCTV on occasion states "timed out while playing" which according to the manufacturer is due to lack of bandwidth.   Broadband Speed Checkers show we have 143mb up, 147 down. Frequently the new Samsung smart TV goes dark/light. None of this happened before the upgrade. Does watching Sky TV through FTTP (unlike the previous dish) use bandwidth? As an aside the Sky salesman said the fibre cable layer would use an underground "mole' from the pavement fibre terminator to lay the cable, this didn't happen and we've had a garden trench dug, border and monoblock torn up and patio damaged by a circular saw to lay the cable between joints. There were 3 vans and 6 staff on site trying to sort things out. Has anyone got thoughts on the significant speed reduction please?

Yes: how else is the data going to get there,?

I suspect trenching is the normal method: I've never heard of individual FTTP installation using a tunnelling machine.

Re: Sky FTTP Upgrade Is Slow

Hi TimmyBGood, being a less than IT literate Sky subscriber, this was my first post hoping to receive a helpful reply to our issues after upgrading to FTTP 150mbps and to receive your sarcastic answer is disappointing. You're a Sky Superuser so you're expected to "be welcoming to new members, give useful advice, and create a welcoming environment" which you have not done.
