Sky Broadband Max Hub

Can I replace my Sky Broadband hub with a Max version that has been purchased outside the Sky broadband contract. Is it just a straight swap?

Max Hubs shouldn't be available from anywhere but Sky through a subscription.  It may or may not work for internet access, but you won't have any administrator settings available in the My Sky app.
