If you are leaving your current home in January then to cancel Sky Broadband you would need to call them and when you do this you have to give them 14 days notice.
Your contract doesn't end on 1st August as all that happens is the minimum term is ending meaning you are no longer locked into the contract so you are now free to give the 14 days notice to cancel.
