Sky Booster stopped working

We have both TV and Broadband provided by Sky.

 

The Sky Booster was working fine for ages, but as of this week it has stopped working properly.

 

There is only 1 light on: the green Power light.

 

When I press and hold the WPS button for 4 seconds, it does NOT flash amber (or light up in any colour!).

Neither the Wifi light or the Connected light are lit anymore.

@AntOnSky Looks like you managed to keep the Engineer on the straight and narrow path, new one working fine, then the old one had given up the ghost, it does happen and nothing last's for ever!🤣👍

@AntOnSky See if the reset does anything to get it going, if not you may just need to call sky for a replacement unit, there are two the SE210 with an Ethernet connection and a SE210a without the Ethernet so be sure to ask and get what you need! Link below will walk you through the reset and then to re connect the unit back to the Sky Hub!

@AntOnSky try the booster in the same room as the hub if it doesnt link there it it is probably faulty and you should ask Sky to replace the booster.

Thanks. I have already tried it in the same room. And even connected via Ethernet cable.

Neither worked.

 

But seems odd that it would just suddenly stop working.

@AntOnSky Your post has been escalated for you now, so sky CS ia the best way for you to go chatting with them!

 

If you have reset it as per the link, and it does not go to the two outside lights, more than likely it's gone faulty, items dont last for ever, but will say my 2019 SE210 is still working fine!

 

  1. Hold RESET on the back of your booster  for 10 seconds, or until the power light flashes green.
  2. When the power light turns solid green, it's reset.

The Sky Expert suggested I change my Gateway address. So I did. But now theirSky chat error.jpg messages won't display, so I can't talk to him anymore !!!!

A Sky TV team came today and (reluctantly) replaced the Booster.

One of them said the problem was that the router had both 2GHz and 5GHz. I said surely that's expected as it's a dual-band router.

He then said he's not technical 🙂

But finally he agreed to replace the Booster, and so far it's working.
