Should i consider Switching to EE
I was talking to EE about upgraging my phone and they tried to push their broadband to get a discount on my phone, which they always do. This time however they are telling me I can get 1.6gig fibre and a wifi 7 router for £42 and £22 per month off my upgrade. I'm reluctant given I have had issues in the past with other providers, I work from home so rely on my Broadband, and Sky have (to be fair) been the most reliable provider to me. I've left before and come back.
So I went to check Sky's latest offering and sure enough they can offer speeds of 1.6gig or more, and a wifi 7 router, and if i were a new customer the price woul dbe £38. I'm currently a Gigafast 900 customer and paying £46. I would like to upgrade my broadband but sky will not let me until MArch, however EE are suggesting they will also buy out my remaining Sky broadband contract. Has anyone else had experience of switching? Is it this easy? Personally i would rather stay with sky to avoid the hassle but the £22 per month phone saving plus better broadband deal is too tempting.

Re: Should i consider Switching to EE
@SwitchEE @this is a decision you will have to make yourself. However you are currently on the same service that EE are offering ie a 1Gb/s Openreach connection which delivers up to 900Mb/s to a device as you lose roughly 8% to network overheads. Look at the total cost of the contract over 24months as both Sky and BT/EE increase prices annually but unlike Sky BT apply a fixed increase which is on the contract while Sky don't so have to allow customers to switch if they don't like the new price without penalty.
The other difference is. The hub where EE does have an edge. Switching is pretty simple using the one tough switching system where the new isp handles the whole transaction including cancelling the Sky service once their new service takes over.
