Setting up a gaming router
Hi,
i have just bought an ASUS AX3000 as sky wifi isnt quite reaching parts of my house.
im having trouble with the new router connecting to the internet. The setup guide is far from helpful and neither is any information online.
I have connect the RJ45 to the WAN connection on the sky hub then connected another RJ45 from Ethernet 1 to the WAN port on my gaming hub. It will not show on my wifi selection on my phone and won't allow me to setup through the ASUS app as I cannot connect. Hoping someone on here will be able to assist
thanks

Re: Setting up a gaming router
@SuBs setting up a second router behind a Sky hub is pretty simple. First thing to do is to turn off the Sky hub's wifi by conecting a device directly to it and assuming it is the black SR203 hub type 192.168.0.1 into a broswer when the interface loads click on wifi tab and log in using the username admin and the default wifi password on the label as the password. Turn off both of the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands then savecthe changes. The Sky hub will restart with the wifi light off.
Then set up your Asus unit following these instructions https://www.asus.com/uk/support/faq/1016107/#iPhone given the Sky hub is authenticating the connection the WAN should just connect.
Note you are setting up a Double NAT connection which a few apps may not like. If you do not need the Sky Talk voice line and want to simplify the set up you can connect your Asus router directly to the ONT if you want this post from my fellow Superuser @jamesn123 explains the set up.
