Received a call this morning from a gentleman who said he was from Sky and asked if I was happy with my phone line and broadband. He went on to ask me what speed I was receiving, he then said my upload speed wasn't good enough and that my router needed to be changed. I would receive a new one on Monday afternoon.
He then said my router needed to be reconfigured and that he would give me my new password.
Being a bit sceptical, I logged into the My Sky app and sure enough my password had been changed.
Various other things happened but when he said he would have to disconnect from my landline so the line could be configured I was almost convinced he was genuine!
Then he said to be able to continue with the process he would have to phone my mobile. Sure enough I received a call through WhatsApp.
To try to keep this short, when he asked me to allow a screen share, I thought I'm not happy with this and disconnected the call.
I then called the number that was shown as being the number he called from, the poor lady who answered must have thought that I was a scammer!
Next call was to Sky who confirmed that the call wasn't from them and that they would escalate the issue.
A bit worrying that these people were able to access my account and change my password!

They acted on information you provided.
Scammers try to obtain sufficient information to be able to order expensive mobile devices in your name which Sky innocently deliver to you so watch out for that.
The scammers would then recontact you (again claiming to be Sky) saying they have made a mistake and for you to send it to a (non Sky) address. If you did that they then have the device and you have the bill.
They are very cunning. They may send packaging to post the item (to them) or might even send a 'courier' to collect it. see this link
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/account-takeover
With any calls from 'Sky' (especially unexpected calls) if the caller asks for your previously agreed telephone password to confirm you're the account holder (which I would expect a genuine Sky agent to do) initially give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it will be a scam call.
I would suggest changing your online password again https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/
It's also worth keeping an eye on your bank account for any fraudulent transactions.

Put 2 step verification on. If you do this if someone try to access your account either you or scammer a 6 digit code as text is sent the mobile linked to the account and the user has to put that code in on the screen to access you account, as you are the only one with that mobile only you can access your account, no scammers .I have had turned on for a couple of weeks now and yes it a extra thing you have to do to look at you account or even log in to this forum, but I know nobody else can be course I am the only one with the mobile number that unlocks it.
