SR203 needs replacing.... or does it

All,

we had an issue in late 2025 and had a Sky engineer out. He said our hub/router was old and outdated and replaced it with a SR203 model. Today I've had an e-mail from Sky saying my hub is now not receiving security/software updates and needs to be upgraded. I wonder does this message relate to my old hub that was replaced or is the SR203 now also outdated. Don't want the hassle of changing it unless I really need to, any advice would be gratefully received.

The black SR203 replaced my old Sky Q hub due to it no longer receiving the security updates. I'm surprised the engineer changed it there and then but it sounds like Sky weren't updated as to the change.

Thanks, thats what I thought, I'll stick with it and not sign up to change it again.

It might be worth you contacting Sky and letting them know an engineer already changed it. They'll probably want the serial number which is on the bottom of the label on the back.
