Hi all, have been having trouble forwarding a port on my new sky broadband setup, while experimenting I enabled the DMZ on the fixed up address for a smart home miniserver and the smart phone app was then able to access the mini server perfectly fine, Turn the DMZ back of and annoyingly the smart phone app stops working outside of the house, I have made sure to assign a fixed up address to the miniserver and also have put the correct settings into the port forwarding rules into the hub as far as I'm aware, I even got a friend who has professional IT experience and he said it appears I've filled in everything correctly. Just to note on my previous Asus router with virgin media I assigned the same fixed IP and port forward and itnwork d fine any help highly appreciated.

You first set up the rule then you have to schedule it as explained here https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband-Talk/How-to-set-up-port-forwarding/ba-p/2662260
There is an added complication that the hub's interface is notoriously fussy about the browser you use to make changes I find Chrome running on non Apple kit is the most reliable.
As I hope you are aware it is not advised to run a server in the DMZ as it is the equivelent of leaving your front door open.

Thanks for the response Chrisee,
I only enabled the DMZ briefly on the miniserver IP address just to confirm that I could connect to the miniserver via the app outside of the WiFi network and it did work, I have doubled checked the port forwarding settings and believe I have filled in all nesscessary boxes but it still does not appear to be forwarding port.
Later today I will get on the laptop via chrome and recheck the settings, might reset hub and start from scratch.
