Is the router up to the job in terms of range and speed?
I'm transferring over from BT 900 on April 25th and the Smart Hub 2 they provide isn't Wi-Fi 6 so didn't get great speeds and I needed 2 satellites to get a decent signal in other rooms.
I ended up buying my own Orbi router to get better speeds.
If the Sky one is good enough, I'll keep that and sell my Orbi mesh system

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@OMTT the current Sky hub the SR203 is also onlly wifi5 and is certainly no better than BT's offering except if you have Sky Q tv boxes which act as mesh satellite units with Sky hubs.
To connect to Sky FTTP services a third party router requires to offer DHCPv4 Option61 but in some cases you can get away with DHCPv6 PD but that is down to luck as not all exchanges support that. There are reports that later Orbi firmware does offer option 61 but check.
As with BT you lose the landline faxility if you use a third party router. If its only wifi you are concerned about you can either use a Double NAT set up or run the Orbi in Access Point mode if it supports that. Whether tgst will work for you depends on your usage requirements.
