So last week I switched from the 500ms to the 1gb broadband.
I currently have a black router.
When I was on the 500 package my average download speed through ethernet was around 470. Now I'm on the 1gb my average download speed is around 640.
Is there a limitation of the black router or is it my line? I see there's a new white router, would it be worth my while upgrading to this or something like the tp link Archer AX55?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThose speeds over WiFi are pretty good and your likely hitting the limit of either the router, your devices, your local WiFi conditions or all three. Its unlikely you will see much better results with the Sky max router, you may see improvements with a 3rd party router but again that depends on client devices and local WiFi conditions.
If you want to make the most of your 1gbps connection you should really use ethernet.
