Router security to be updated by 31/12/25

Does anyone know how/where to update my router/hub security settings? I received an email that come 31st it won't be as secure. I need to update my security settings but the link doesn't take me to the page to do so.

Have you still got an old Sky Q hub? Sky sent out emails in about January 2025 that these old hubs wouldn't receive security updates from the New Year and were offering free replacement hubs. I changed mine in February to the black Sky Broadband hub they sent me.

The email is somewhat misleading: it's Sky announcing that the Q Hub will no longer receive new firmware versions (the date is entirely arbitrary) to encourage users to take up the offer of replacement hardware.

Q Hubs no longer meet UK regulations for routers because they ship with weak local admin credentials: they are also obsolete because they don't have a telephone handset socket to support Sky Talk Internet Calls.
