Router black box or white

I have just installed a new white router ( replacing a sligjtly older black box) 

but ita absolutley rubbish, then signal is dropping on the sky q box all the time and will not stay connected , getting my cameras connected as been the same, the signal strenth is far weeker as well, i have now connected the older black box again ( still has uk telephone socket on the back )

We have an engineer visit next week and I am not sure weather to bother and just keep the oldee box, is there anything on the white box that is better ! If the engineer sorts it ! Anyone else had this trouble
