Router Issues

Not impressed 😟

Swapped to Sky from EE just recently as contract was up. All fine initially however WiFi around the home much weaker with Sky than EE. Now daily I'm having to reboot the router for WiFi to work, broadband fine, Ethernet connections fine.

Called Sky the guy in India 'I assume' had no idea what I was on about and kept going on about testing the line and Openreach. Nearly 30 minutes in and he still couldn't grasp that it was the router failing to pump out a WiFi signal unless it was rebooted. I just gave up on the call going around in circles.

Not impressed will do my best to cancel and switch back to EE ASAP!

Re: Router Issues

Appreciate that but not sure I should be paying additionally when the router itself is not functioning correctly.

I've emailed Sky phone service is now unusable since the closing of UK call centre support. Will get out of the contract and switch back to EE.

Re: Router Issues

A message on my tv screen since last Sunday saying that I don't have Internet connection.  I have followed the instructions on my tv screen with no success. Can you please help?

White Sky Max Hub by any chance?

It isn't a patch on the EE/BT kit or the FRITZ!Box/eero stuff supplied by Zen and others sadly. You can always add the WiFi Max add-on but unbelievably, whilst the hub is WiFi 6, the pods are WiFi 5... 😱

I assume the WiFi 7 Gigafast+ Hub is half decent, but only available on a CityFibre connection.

Hopefully a moderator will pick this up and move your request to it's own thread.

@stereohaven

It's either broken or useless.

The call centre which used to be one of the shining lights of Sky has been decimated under Comcast the training overseas is non existent.

I had a quick look and the Gigafast+ hub apparently is "more like a glorified WiFi 6E hub with firmly locked down firmware, frequently booting WiFi devices off the hub". Sounds familiar?
