Router Daily Update?

Hi all

Recently returned to Sky Broadband.  Happy so far - just a quick question.

 

Broadband drops around 3am every night for a minute or so.  Router light goes red, blinks white and then settles again and the connection comes back on.

Not really a massive issue as I'm not normally using it at this time but I was just wondering why?  Does it do a daily update or something?

Tonight it did the same thing at 2am then 3am.  I seem to recall this happening last year when I was with Sky (went to Virgin for a bit but that ended badly..) so I'm guessing it's meant ot happen.

@Dik19792002 With new connections on a service delivered over copper the DLM system in the cabinet is likely to be changing the noise margin around thst time as it optimises the line which can take a couple of weeks. You can see similar activity after bad weather. It is an automated process designed to give you the best connection in terms of speed and stability.
