I recently upgraded my router with Sky and since I have had nothing but problems with the sr203 router. Although it is advertised for up to 64 wireless devices I find it really struggles when theres around 20 devices connected. I have Cat 6 throughout my house and prefer to use it where possible but the wireless devices are now becoming pretty unusable. I also have a real frustration in not being able to set a custom DNS on the router
My initial plan was to replace the sr203 with a combination of Draytek Vigor 2766 router and an eero mesh network (got 5 nodes as a present last year but never installed them).
I have sky q multiroom and both boxes are connected by ethernet cable but i want to use another box in the only room without ethernet
My questions are these.
1, Will the vigor wotk with Sky Superfast
2. If I set the SSID of the aero will I get away with not having to reconnect some of the existing wifi devices such as the printers (I just dont have the time at the moment to join a new network on all devices in my house)
3. Will sky q still function
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Find out more@Noalcastormoderno while the Draytek router looks likely it to supports Sky'DHCPv4 option 61 log in requirement you will have a double NAT or use the Eero in bridge mode as I doubt you cannot set it up in modem mode as the Eero definitely doesn't support Sky's connection system. Seems an expensive solution given you will be turning off its wifi etc. my own Sky SR203 hub supports over 20 devices but wifi duties are handled by a TP-Link Deco set up in Access Point mode.
While you can clone the Sky SSID and log in from your Sky hub and your non Sky kit should just connect, being lazy I always do that myself. However that does not apply to your Sky Q tv kit however if they are all hard wired simply disable their wifi totally using each box's engineer's menu - navigate to settings but enter 0,0,1 before pressing select. Leaving the wifi active to connnect a second Q mini would mean the Sky wifi hotspots will interfere with your Eero mesh as they use ch36 to 52 in the 5GHz band.although you can set the boxes to use either half of that range in the engineers menu. You cannot connect the. Q minimto the Eero mesh.

Thanks
I don't know what the best way forward is. The current situation is not working. I already have all of the Eero equipment and just want a solution that results in the least hassle. I have great experience using similar set ups to what I proposed. The X factor though is Sky Q

I think i am going to try this and see if it improves anything, I do a fair amount of gaming and I also think its the routing more so than the wifi thats the problem with the sky router but I will test it and see. Thanks
