Just had my drive done and am needing to upgrade my internet.
the driveway is resin now and i have been told it would need to be dug into for the duct. Is this the only way it can reach the house? Resin cannot be broken and then re-laid.
i have blockpaving along the border and a small front garden outside the house or am near the main road on the otherside of my house. Could it not go through the garden alternately?

Unfortunately there's no method for talking to Openreach about such things until they turn up to do the work: that's just not possible given the necessary speed of the national FTTP rollout (80,000 installations a week), and Openreach isn't a customer facing organisation anyway.
It's possible for a UG partial Direct in Ground job you'll get a pre-dig visit to assess viable routes, but there's no guarantee of that.

Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises:-Single Dwelling Unit Residential UG partial Direct In Ground.
FTTP is available and a new ONT may be ordered.
The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme
As a WLR withdrawal exchange, product restrictions apply
SOADSL is not restricted at the exchange
For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.
For all SOADSL services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.
Actual speeds experienced by end users and quoted by CPs will be lower due to a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.
In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.
If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service
ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL availability: If shown at FTTP or SOGEA premises,ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL are not available to order due to WLR Withdrawal stop sell rules. CPs should order FTTP or SOGEA. Copper products are only available by exception.

OK, unfortunately there's no existing ducting. You'll need to negotiate a route which is acceptable to both yourself and Openreach: ultimately you don't have to accept what they offer, but they cannot exceed their own budget (including time) for any particular connection unless you choose to cover the excess cost after receiving a quote.

Ah okay thanks! So would it be worthwhile contacting Openreach directly to come up with a solution as we took out the offer with Sky.
