Replacing sky router for Asus tuf 3000

Hi,

I know this has been asked before!

Can anyone help with were I'm going wrong please.

I have done the option 61 setting and it worked brilliantly for about nine months with ai mesh setup also.

Then about 2 weeks ago it stopped!

So I reset it.

Reconfigured it=option 61,DHCP,

But it will work for a while then stops!

My set up:

I have ethernet cable from open reach box direct to my Asus wan(sky router unplugged not in use)

Then my Asus plug in nodes around my house for the mesh .

Can anyone help me as to what i'm doing wrong as this has worked for nine months then stopped.

(Asus imesh setup was brilliant)

Thanks

@Dee193340 certainly should work as Sky have not made any changes that have broken other users connections as if they had we would have loads of posts. Double check the settings as a firmware update may have overwritten one.

If still stuck plug in the Sky hub as there could be a line fault and you would need the Sky hub online to get Sky to check. You can continue to use the.Asus wifi if you want either her in access point mode or in a double NAT set up.

Re: Replacing sky router for Asus tuf 3000

Hi

Thanks for the reply!

Sky done a check and all is well on the line.

I have sky router up and running again with me Asus router/nodes setup in

repeatermode which is cutting my wifi in half and I loose a lot of Asus app functions which are fantastic.

Is sky authentication still option 61

Or PPPoe?

Its strange it worked for 9months then stopped.

Would there be some settings that need changed in sky router settings maybe

@Dee193340 Are you using Asus or merlin FW on the router, and MER option 61 depends on what your connection is exchange wise. I do not use and straight dhcp mode. Wan was posted other day so will find, is zen mode so should be very similar!

@Dee193340 Take a look at the linked post above then, it's always hard to find out what is going on Router wise, so the fall back to sky is the way, if it's up and working then you have an Asus connection or FW issue!

That's interesting in that link you posted Jim.

Option 61 not needed 🤔

@Dee193340 Pretty sure i mentioned it earlier, all you can do and if i was you, asumming that you have Asus all down pat which looks like

you do, reset and start again, you can easily do a backup on the Asus before you start!
