Remote activation - faulty ONT?

Hello!

I have recently moved homes and in my new place the Openreach BT ONT has already been installed by the previous tenants (it is the Huawei HG8420 model, from the looks of it). While I am waiting for my Sky Hub to arrive I have been reading the requirements for the remote broadband activation and it says that the ONT should be powered on with the lights showing green.

My issue is that the lights are all off and have been off ever since I moved in, althought the power cable connecting the ONT to the other white box (battery?) is plugged in. Hence, I am not sure how to power it on, as this model does not have an ON/ OFF button or a Restart button. As this is my first time setting up wifi like this, I am quite clueless on how to vheck whether there is an actual issue with the ONT or if I am just missing something obvious?

Any help would be appreciated!

@NediMedi obiviously the ONT needs to be powered if you are lacking a suitable cable call Sky to get them to ask Openreach to supply one. However the LOS light won't come on until Openreach activate the service even if the ONT is powered.

If the ONT is running from the battery, then the battery pack requires its own mains connection: unfortunately these tend to go missing during house moves when they leave with the previous occupant.
