Relocating ONT point

Last year I had to wait 5 months for my internet to be installed due to issues caused by Sky and Openreach. When I had broadband installed the installation was done quickly and seemed somewhat rushed and the ONT was installed in a convenient place for the Kellys engineer who installed it, we felt at the time it was best to have internet installed and went through with it. The ONT is installed at the front of the bungalow in the kitchen, after living with it for a few months we have poor WiFi signal in other parts of the house due to this location. Ideally we wanted it installed in the living room in the back of the property.
Due to the issues last year we were awarded compensation for the delays and other issues faced, we tried to raise the ONT location issue with sky but the agents didn't seem to understand the issue.
could anyone advise me on the process of having an ONT relocated due to it not being installed in a suitable location and it causing WiFi issues? I know there'll be some form of cost.

@VomiLe

It used to be called a master socket relocation, obviously now its an ONT not a master socket. However you should still be able to book the service with Sky.

Re: Relocating ONT point

I had it done successfully but mine was making the fibre shorter. Depending on layout, you'll need them to extend the fibre from the CSP (grey box outside house) around the house to a new point on the external wall. It will all depend on how easy the cable is to run and how flexible Kelly's/BT are. I had predrilled the wall access hole beforehand as well just to speed things up.

Moving the ONT can be quite pricy, (£100+).  I don't know whether it's any help to you, but the ethernet cable from the ONT to the router can potentially reach 100m.  It might be easier/cheaper to put an internal cable in and just move the position of the router to somewhere better.

Yes, it just needs a longer cable. Cat 5e or Cat 6. (Cat 7 will work but is abit over the top for job. Don't use the old Cat 5 as it can't handle the speed, needs to be the newer 5e).

Quite difficult to purchase original Cat5 ethernet these days as the 'e' standard has been around for a couple of decades.  It's advisable to avoid Copper Clad Aluminium (CCA) though as that doesn't meet any Cat standard.
