I have a red alrm light on my open reach fibre box. I have been told this may clear after a few days however having read other peoples problems with this. I get the feeling I am being fobbed off. Has anyone else been able to resolve this issue?

Which ont do you have?
Alarm can mean a few things from backup battery unit depleted to firmware update failure.
Are you able to remove the front bit of the ont to see which light is red?

The Red light that is on is the alarm light. I can not see that I can take the front off.

Could you post a photo of the ont using the icon that looks like a photo frame in the area above were you type your reply

Which Openreach ONT do you have, as none of the openreach ont's have an l.e.d labelled alarm.

I found the ONT.
4 years ago, openreach were using Adtran ONT's. The alarm led indicates it failed a firmware update. People have posted saying everything runs as normal, others have said they turned off over night. When they turned it back on, the alarm light had gone and everything was fine.

The Haiwei doesn't have a alarm light, but do turn it off over night, then turn it on again in the morning.
If it doesn't work, press the reset button on the side with a safety pin.

To be clear, is the 'Alarm' light at top left or bottom right of the ONT enclosure?

The light is top left
