❌ Red PON = still a problem
What’s Wrong?
From the Openreach ONT box:
- The PON light is red — ❌ This usually means there’s no fibre connection or a signal issue.
- The LOS/Alarm light is off, which is good.
- The Power light is on, which is also good.
From the Sky router:
- The Internet light is amber/orange — ❌ this means it’s not connected to the internet.

Re: ❌ Red PON = still a problem
Try running the line test here to see if any faults are found:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start
You can also run the test via the MySky app on a mobile data connection.
After this has finished and if it reports back all is good click on broadband to run an updated test. If you get amber or red please follow the on screen instructions.
If this is of no help give Sky a call to report it to them.
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.
If you need help please provide as much information as you can

Re: ❌ Red PON = still a problem
That's most likely to be that there is a physical connection, (i.e. the fibre is lit), but there is a logical connection problem, (i.e. an account problem, authentication failure etc.)
(As an after-thought, if this is a new install, it's most likely a serial number mismatch between the ONT and what the headend has on record).
