Hi,
We recently moved to Sky full fibre with Ultrafast+, which uses a Sky Max Hib (the white one). We don't have WiFi Max.
Ever since we moved to Sky, we haven't been able to maintain connections with our devices using WiFi, even though the signal is strong throughout. I have a power line WiFi extender which doesn't seem to be helping either.
Any device we have connected to the router via Ethernet seems to be working fine however; this includes TV, Sky Stream puck, a PS4, and a powerline extender, with the assistance of an unmanaged switch directly connected to the hub.
I migrated this configuration from our previous setup with BT which I'd never have issues with before.
The service checker has found no connection or hub issues, so I'm a bit hesitant to contact Sky as they're likely going to send an engineer which will take time and won't probably solve anything (judging from other posts with similar issues) or offer to add on Sky pods which we don't want.
I suppose I'm hoping to get some recommendations from the savvy community out here on what is the most efficient way of resolving even if it involves getting a new 3rd party router. Unfortunately I work from home often and not always in one place which means direct Ethernet or via power line is not usually an option. Ideally, we'd like to have a reliable Wifi connection, which should be a given with what we pay for.
Has anyone experienced anything similar and maybe could help?

With you being on Ultrafast all you need to do is connect a 3rd party router to the Openreach ONT on your wall. No extra kit required.

Yes your best option would be a 3rd party router. Personally I'd recommend an Asus AX/AC series.

Re: Recommendations to sort devices constantly dropping from Wifi
Thanks @jamesn123 .
Apologies if it is a silly question, but would you know if I'd need need an Openreach modem too? I've seen other people mentioning this in some other posts and don't know if this applies here.
TIA
