Recent issues with Sky Broadband
Hi there,
In the last few days we have been having horrible problems with our sky broadband.
Constant connection drops that last up to 3 hours where it seems the router cannot connect to the Internet.
When running the the service checker on the account holders account (not mine, she isnt the best with tehcnology so im explain the issue with my own account) it say there is no issues in the area and that everything is running fine when it clearly isnt as we cannot access the Internet.
ive tried all the regualr fixes of unplugging and replugging and power cycling but cannot figure out what the issue is.
Any help?

Re: Recent issues with Sky Broadband
@LizC04 if you have a partial fibre service the connection will drop if there is a burst of noise on the line. These issues are not uncommon as a dodgy connection somewhere between the cabinnet and your home can pick up interference. Given the fault is intermittent they can be difficult to diagnose. The account holder should report the issue to Sky by calling. Whether they can do anything depends on the frequency of the drops and how long they have been going on as the automatic systems managing the line should be increasing the noise margin in steps to stabilse the connection. Openreach wont get involved until that proces has completed which takes up to 2 seeks.
Full fibre drops are far less common and should always be reported.
