Just remember the only way to check your speed is to ethernet a device  directly to the tp link

Sky Stream , Sky Superfast, SR203 router, Tp link td w9970 + Asus RT AX58U (backup), Xbox Series X, google home mini, LG 43 inch UHD tv, samsung a5 2017 and samsung s21

@Taklop @cookiemonsteruk

I have got upto 'Finally, go to Advanced, and disable the dhcp checkbox under the LAN settings.'

I think the rest of the instructions apply to the router (Not the tp link modem)

I can't do that yet as I haven't got the router delivered yet. Is there any way I can check if the TP link is setup correctly in bridge mode now (before I setup the asus router?)

There should be a wan option on the left hand menu that should give us the stats as well as if it is properly bridged

Please could you check if the above look correct?  I haven't connected it to the wall socket when taking those screenshots

You have it bridged and vlan id of 101. Also disabled wifi and disabled dhcp on the tp link. So looking good so far Next step should just be setting up the asus and ensuring it obtains the public ipv4 address 👍

Thank you so much @cookiemonsteruk 👍

My Asus RT-AX58U has arrived today and I will give it a go in about an hour.

I will probably start shouting for help soon 🙂

Re: Purchased new router, looking for Sky compatible modem

Hi,

Looking how to actually get near the 900Mbps I should receive with FTTP and came about this andwer. I have called Sky who told me nothing is recommended, as I anticipated.

As I have FTTP do I not need a modem then router? Or a modem router combo?

Not short of options on routers, just pondering what I actually need?

Thank you in advance,

Kev

With fttp you don't need a modem as that is the ont supplied by openreach

In terms of routers the asus models below can be used as access points etherneted to the sky hub or directly connected to the ont

All Asus rt ax models rt ax56u to rt ax 88u

Asus zen wifi xt8 and xt9 models
