Re: Provision of broadband service .

Why do Sky and Openreach just leave us all in the dark in these situations ? ie No real updates or explanations . Do they now rely on this forum to do their work . Customers frantically trying to find answers from other victims . I know one thing , i shall make sure that a few days  before the 17th July i will be blocking the off the Openreach box and area of footway that needs to be dug up . Doubt you could rely on Openreach to do this .  ( Vehicles park half on pavements around here )

Re: Provision of broadband service .

I had better make sure no vehicles park on pavement Openreach need access to then .

Re: Provision of broadband service .

Just received the Hub through the post , big label on it stating that activation is on the 17th June ! Looks like Openreach have not told them they cannot do it until the 17th JULY . Looking forward to my big fat cheque of compensation .

Perhaps note it's an account credit to be used against future ISP billing, not a cheque.

Re: Provision of broadband service .

@StuartBungle All you can do is sit down work out the different scenario's off what you think you would/should get as a compo, i have only experience it once in the delayed FF install, the OR contractor marked in his report customer not ready which was a load off "pardon my french", but it threw up the impass, take this £30 that's what we are going to give you NOW, or let's go drag it out for ever and ever and ever, my reaction to it was, leaving this asap and stuff the lot off them, did so and back to sky, with NO compo but principled...

Re: Provision of broadband service .

Just got off the phone to Sky , they are going to escalate this . Apparentally this is not down to Openreach (apologies) , it is the unknown contractor who has been tasked with opening up the footway to gain access to the blocked duct . Openreach cannot proceed until then and as they are not end customer (me) responsible will only answer to Sky who are their actual customer . Rang Sky on 0333 ********** and after reading my ' case ' has decided to escalate with Openreach etc , also a promise of a phone call to me this Thursday from a Sky representative with a further update . He also confirmed that my compensation will only start from the 29th May . He also confirmed that when you are advised of payment of compensation you can then ask for it to paid as a lump sum into your bank . WILL NOT LET ME SHOW THEIR PHONE NUMBER .

Re: Provision of broadband service .

@StuartBungle Just manage to have the talk with a neighbour in kind off the same situation, ordered Nov 2024, but does have a confirmed date from sky etc some time for Jan 2025, and to be installed 18th of this month if it happens so looking for the HUGE compo.... At least the replacement hub has arrived, and the nightmare will begin shortly.

Our new date is now  '' 7th August 2025 '' . Was in formed by Openreach via a '' text message'' on Tuesday morning just two days before last installation date given of the 17th July ! Good job i am self employed . 😂
