Possible to skip engineer visit for fibre?
I have a fibre box (ONT) already installed in my flat from the previous owner. Is it at all possible to skip the engineer visit and have the broadband activated remotely?

Re: Possible to skip engineer visit for fibre?
If it's an Openreach ONT then there's not supposed to be any need for installer attendance.

Re: Possible to skip engineer visit for fibre?
Hi, so I have an ONT installed, but the box is black. I had a quick Google and it showed OpenReach ONT boxes as being white.
Does this mean someone has to come and install a different one or something? Is it still possible to have remote activation?

@hb2242 Think you are going to get a OR visit, who has the fibre install just now if you know! OR is all cream/white coloured! Are you in the City Fibre area?

All Openreach ONTs are white, so what you have is from an altnet provider.

A different ONT plus another fibre-optic cable.

No.
