Poor wifi

Why do I have to keep going onto my sky app in order to get WiFi on my iPad, laptop or computer?.  I am paying for fast internet / broadband and I'm not getting it unless I go onto my sky app

That doesnt make much sense, the My Sky app is for management of your Sky account and does not control the availability of your Sky broadband. Can you show us what you see when you try and use your broadband service before you open the My Sky app?
