Poor wifi connection when using Teams

When sharing Teams I get the darker voice or freeze forcing me to leave the meeting

this has happened on several occasions and is making WFH an impossibility

Re: Poor wifi connection when using Teams

If you are using a work machine with VPN, ask your IT department if they are using something called a 'split tunnel' for Teams.

The idea of a VPN connection is that your work machine's network traffic is routed down the VPN 'tunnel' back to your organisation's on-premises network for connection to internal servers etc. In the case of Teams, your Teams traffic might be being routed through the VPN tunnel across the internet, into your organisation's network only to then be routed back out to Microsoft's data centres across the internet.,

A split tunnel allows network traffic that is destined for your organisation's on-premises server to get routed down the VPN tunnel, whilst anything destined for the internet (such as Teams) to go directly out onto the internet via your broadband connection - ergo the name split tunnel.

Without knowing the details of how your organisation manages your VPN connection, it might be a case that you'll get better Teams telephony (telephone calls, video conferencing and shared desktop sessions) performance with a split tunnel than routing the same connection via VPN then back out onto the internet again.

Is anything else using your internet connection whilst you are trying to use Teams such as watching an streaming TV or audio, online gaming or downloads?
