Poor service and management of Sky team
Can someone suggest me something regarding the unacceptable delay in the installation of my Sky Broadband service.
• I accepted Sky’s offer on and placed order on 29/07/2025
• I was given an installation date of 12 August 2025.
• As of today, 3 September 2025, the installation has still not been completed.
This means I have been waiting well beyond the promised timescale. Initially on 12th October I got email that my installation is delayed and will be done in seven working days but When I contacted customer service, I was told that it “takes 20 days” and that I could “apply for compensation,” but this does not address the lack of service or give me a clear resolution.
Under Ofcom’s Automatic Compensation Scheme, Sky is obliged to provide:
• £6.10 per day for delayed installations beyond the confirmed date, until the service is activated.
And Sky making me feel like they are doing something special for me when I call them.
Yesterday I emailed Sky and I got automated acknowledgement email as well. My request in email was as fallows;
Same words..
1. Immediately provide me with a confirmed installation date, in writing.
2. Confirm that I am receiving automatic compensation for each day of delay, starting from 13 August 2025 until the service goes live.
3. Provide a temporary solution (such as a 4G dongle) while waiting, given the excessive delay.
If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate it to the Ombudsman Services: Communications.
But no one bothered to reply, I am very frustrated and hate this silence(no update). I don’t know how to handle this unprofessional behaviour.
Initially on 15th August I raised this issue to customer service but nothing happened they gave me the unique reference number for my query and formal complaint no.
Can someone suggest what to do ??????
