Phone socket water damaged
Hi we have had a small leak tonight and water gas got into our main socket where we plug the cable for the Internet the one that looks like a phone cable. Is there an alternative to use until we get this socket repaired as obviously our Internet is down.
Thanks

Re: Phone socket water damaged
@mel28 if you have a master phone socket with two connections one of which is for the hub then you are stuck. If however there is only one outlet on the socket and you use a filter to connect the hub any other phone socket in your home should work. If the line filter got wet that may need replacing
There is a chance once the socket dries out thst your connection might start working again. Phone connections carry a low voltage from the exchange so dont try it until the area is completly dry but phone lines are remarkably resiliant against getting wet,
