@Stuart130  The other thing you could try in this sequence:

Unplug the power from the phillips Huie Hub.

Reboot your broadband hub, once fully up and running plug the hue hub back in.

If this does not work try these steps with the Hue Hub

Switching the bulb on and off 6 times in rapid succession puts it in pairing mode. The light should pulse in and out to let you know it's in pairing mode, and should be discoverable in the Hue app too

@Stuart130 On the off chance you haven't tried..... factory reset the bridge, delete and reinstall the hue app

@Stuart130  I would try thr factory rest option as posted by @Anonymous   as a last resort.

Re: Philips Hue Bridge won't connect to router

@GD1  I'd imagine there will be nothing left of the reset button and factory reset by the time I go to bed, this started at 1pm today

thanks for your input, I've tried the reset and everything, both the hub and the bridge but still nothing...

Its like the router can't acknowledge the cable whatever I do, maybe I should buy it a drink and tell it it looks pretty.

Re: Philips Hue Bridge won't connect to router

@Stuart130 One last thought, have you checked the router to see whether it has allocated an IP address to the bridge? If it has, there is a way to add a bridge by IP address in the app.

I don't know how to check if it has assigned it an address, I can sign into the router but can't see where that may be...

Re: Philips Hue Bridge won't connect to router

@Stuart130 Once you're logged into the router, use the 'maintenance' tab, then 'attached devices' .

My hub doesn't broadcast its name, but appears to be the only device where the device name and MAC address columns show the same information. i.e Device name 001788af1d75, MAC address 00.17.88.af.1d.75

If you've really turned off security, turn it back on immediately! You weren't supposed to be turning off security, but diabling the 5GHz band.
