Performance issue new sky hub max
Good morning,
I have tried to find an answer to the below but have been unable to thus far, so do please point me in the right direction if there are solutions available.
I have family staying for a month or two while they move house, all of us working from home at the same time pushed my Sky wifi a little too much. So I upgraded to full-fibre 500 and also got a sky hub max. So far, we have noticed a very slight speed and connectivity improvement...
BUT:
1. Our TV (Samsung) will not connect to the wifi... I came to these forums and found switching the router to WPS2 would solve it. Unfortunately, the hub is not on my app yet so am waiting for that to show up (need 5 days now)... I tried to go through the "myrouter.io/198.etc." but when changing the settings, my work laptop constantly dropped the internet. To solve this in the interim I have a lovely ethernet cable running along my living room floor...
2. My personal laptop only connects to 2.4ghz and is getting slower internet compared to before I "upgraded" to the new hub, which is annoying. It can connect to 5ghz but everything I have tried (such as going into the device manager and picking 5ghz preference etc.) has failed. It is an Acer laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A wifi adapter.
Any help with either of the above would be very useful.

Re: Performance issue new sky hub max
Apologies, that should have said, "I can connect to 5ghz elsewhere". I was also getting 5ghz and 160+mbps on my old (black) router. Now I am lucky to get 70mbps with 500+ latency..
