Pausing internet causing timeouts
My Sky bb is FTTP and computers are connected by Ethernet so this is not a WiFi issue. The speedtest is reporting no issues and the Openreach box is all green. Streaming on Iplayer and other services is fine and fast. The problem is however is on occasion web sites pause and sometimes timeout. In addition, a home Minecraft server is causing clinets to throw Java disconnect errors. My work PC is timing out a mainframe connect CRUCIAL for my work. An internet connection tracker reports the conection as unstable with ping spikes every few seconds. This is not acceptable. I would point out that this connection has been fine for over a year and has only just started to have issues in the last 2 to 3 weeks. The router has been reset several times to no avail. All machines connected are reporting the issue. Please help me resolve this issue - have any recent updates been issued that maybe the cause?

Re: Pausing internet causing timeouts
@Ameldan first point you are buying a domestic connection that you use it to work from home does not change that so you cannot expect exta support for a work issue if you require that level of support source a business grade connection which costs considerably more.
If you live in the southwest of Scotland there was a similar fault reported last Thursday which was cleared on Monday which affected a number if customers a simple reboot of yiour Sky hub should clear the issue.
Otherwise powering down your hub for an hour can often clears these faults which can be caused by issues with the Sky server node managing your connection. One other possible cause could be due to your Sky hub being asked to handle multiple requests simultaenously these units have limited power so if for example you have kids gaming while you are working that could cause delays. There can be issues with the full fibre network but these are rare but as you are sharing capacity with up to 29 other lines and tracing such faults is not simple.

Re: Pausing internet causing timeouts
Thats great and all but the connection had no issues with mainframe connection until recently, now I cant make a Teams phone call without dropping out. This is an unacceptable drop in performance. I shouldnt have to get business grade connections for maintaing basic stablity. There are people on Virgin Media reporting a good connection of packet Stats **bleep**. The router has been reset several times and it doesnt matter how many people are on the stability is the same. Not being able to make a Teams call is far worse than my ADSL days.
