PS5 Pro KBPS Download Speeds

Hi all,

I’ve recently moved into a rental that comes with Sky Broadband Business on a BR440 router. All devices work excellently except PS5 Pro. Download speeds around 1.4kbps and had in-depth chats with Claude & OpenAI.

- I’ve split 2.4 & 5Ghz.
- Changed WiFi channel to 40 down from 144 due to PS5 range issues.
- Changed the WiFi Mode to 802.11ac
- Changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (have previously tried the 1s)
- MTU default, though have tried 1450 previously
- Have previously disabled ipv6, no improvement

When I do a connection test everything passes until it hits PS5 online services, then fails follows by a speed test in the low kbps. WPA is set to 2.

Probably a long shot but can anybody help? All other devices work flawlessly.

@LRyan93 the forum does not directly support Sky Business but your issues sounds to be a lousy WiFi signal reaching the PS5. If wanting tomgame it isxalways better to use Ethernet but I assume that is impractical. A decent second choice is use of a powerline networking kit that works over the buildings mains cabelling. You could use a WiFi extender but it wiuld be a poor choice in comparison.

Given it's a rental I guess hardwiring is not an option? Although it looks like the business broadband may have more rigorous firewall and security in the way anyway.

From AI:- If your landlord is agreeable then ask them to request a Static IPv4 Address from Sky. Call Sky Business Support and ask them to assign a Static Public IPv4 address to the account. Sky Business accounts usually include one free static IP upon request. This removes you from their carrier-grade network translation pools, routing your console directly to the open web.

Another possible workaround is connecting the PS5 to a mobile hotspot and signing  into the PSN. You can then switch back on the PS5 to the Sky network bypassing a possible handshake issue.

Re: PS5 Pro KBPS Download Speeds

Thanks for the response but that's certainly not the issue - signal stregth is 92%.

It's almost certainly something in the Business WiFi settings or processing that isn't working with PS5 Pro, just not sure how to obtain help for it.
