Ordered April, still waiting installation

I ordered new broadband back in April, i am still waiting for the openreach engineer to call out, it has been cancelled several times.

What is the hold up and why is it taking so long to get the works completed?

I now have to wait til August and more than likely it will get rescheduled again.

I am not happy at all, i changed as i needed my broadband bill lowered.

What are my options?

You aren’t contacting Sky Customer Services here. This is predominantly a customer led discussion forum where Sky customers are available to help other customers.

What reason have Sky given you (probably passed to them from Openreach) for the delay?

Typically that kind of delay is where the new contract is going to be provisioned by underground FTTP but there isn't an optical connection or a usable duct to the address at the moment.

The results from the link which @cookiemonsteruk posted will verify this.

@Tapz2010 you are not the first person to report long delays. Given there are around 80K fibre installs every week a few do get delayed. There are many potential reasons one common one is where Openreach or City Fibre need permission from a third party to run their cable acroos their land. Another is where the new cable has to cross a major road or require somecspeciakist kit like a cherry picker.

The only good news is younshould be compensated firvthe delay see Customer Auto-Compensation | Sky Help | Sky.com
