Openreach!

Hello

i wonder if anyone can help/advise.
We moved into a new unit on a fully residential park home site 1 month ago. No existing broadband, sky installation date of 9th October. Sky engineer arrived, stated unable to activate, Openreach needed to do some work. OR arrived 2 days later, stated straightforward, should be done within a week. We also have sky glass so not been able to watch TV since moving in. Sky are telling us the delay is with Openreach, apparently they need the council's permission to do the installation work. I've spoken to our council highways department who refute this as the land is private. All our neighbours have broadband installed. It is not possible to contact Openreach direct. It seems Sky are making excuses & we are going around in circles. We both work from home so having to purchase expensive internet data.
Any help would be appreciated!

@Ruthi80 appreciate this is frustrating but what Sky are telling you is what Openreach have told them. The permission is probably required from the freehold owner of the site your home is on rather than the LA. The fact your site did not have an operational phone line was probably not known when the ordercwas taken and inly became clear when the engineer triied to connect. These things do take time and getting information from Openreach is diffcult for Sky and impossible for the end customer.

You should be due compensation once the job is completed to help,cover your extra costs the scheme is explained here Customer Auto-Compensation | Sky Help | Sky.com

Re: Openreach!

Thanks for the reply !

Openreach had verbal permission on phone from the site owner on 11th October so still unsure why the delay 😞

@Ruthi80

Assuming everything else is in place, it's a question of Openreach scheduling the appropriate resources.  While any individual installation is of the highest priority for the subscriber, it's one of 80,000 plus each week for Openreach and their subcontractors.
