Openreach - quicker install?
Switched from EE one month ago to Sky thinking I'd get better/quicker broadband but have had a complete nightmare getting full fibre broadband installed.
3 failed visits from Openreach, 20+ calls to Sky going around in circles, getting passed from team-to-team who offer a solution but inevitably don't deliver and/or accidently close the case and/or fail to call back. Shambles!
Am now at the point of having to completely re-order - which likely means at least another 2+ weeks until Openreach comes out to install.
Is there any way to get Sky to fast-track my Openreach installation date? They say they can't but surely there's extenuating circumstances given they've messed me around for a month & I'll have been without internet for 6 weeks?

No neither Sky nor any ISP can fast track a connection as installs are done by Openreach. There are no extenuating circumstances as installs can fail for a variety of resons, you'll get Ofcom Auto Compensation for any delay, that is the most you can expect.

@pupppish Your not the first and will not be the last, that is why there is a proviso in the order when complex needs arise it can take up to 90 day's to get dealt with or Longer! Sky do not control what is happening that is OR all by themselves! You would have the same with any ISP that you ordered with no matter what!

Re: Openreach - quicker install?
Initial Openreach engineer ported it to the wrong address.
Subsequent engineers tried to resolve it but couldn't. Am now told it's an 'Openreach issue' which they're not elaborating on.
Have been offered copper as an interim alternative but they've accidentally cancelled it twice before I could even get an install date.
I think I'm at the point of just starting fresh with a new provider. Probably quicker and simpler.
