Openreach lack of transparency/confusion over full fibre installation.
Quick question because I'm running into brick walls with this. Moving home tomorrow on 10th June 2025, setup switching from regular broadband to full fiber at the new address a month ago, several weeks back we received an email from Openreach stating they needed to dig a small trench in the driveway and required a signed PTO but other than that we were good to go.
Had to wait a week for missives to be signed etc then sent them the signed PTO adobe thing. About 5 days later we get an email from Sky saying there is a problem and to contact them.
Getting someone from Sky on the phone they stated there was a problem installing and they weren't given an explanation by Openreach, they were simply guessing and they cancelled the order and due to time constraints we setup a regular broadband order with them instead.
I contacted Openreach by the only method I could find, their email asking if they could clarify what the issue was in hopes of resolving it but the reply was simply that the job was cancelled by Sky, well, yes, because they were supposedly told by Openreach it couldn't be done for some reason.
The new address still shows up as full fiber fully available and ready to go, on Openreach, Sky and every other suppliers checker.
Does anyone know, what exactly are we supposed to doin this scenario when A is pointing fingers at B and B is pointing fingers at A?
Just keep spamming the order in the hopes that some day someone explains what the issue is?

@K.Findlay As long as sky have accepted the order, you will probably just find a delayed installation until OR get round to installing a FF connection to the property, and the time involved in doing so, if you do find that to be the case then you may just have to either wait or find someway to keep some form of connection in the period. Finding out is like trying to get blood out of a stone....

Re: Openreach lack of transparency/confusion over full fibre installation.
Thank you for the reply Jim, apologies for the delayed responce, lack of net during the move and painfully slow once we got hooked up.
It's re-booked with an activation date of 10th July 2025, turned out our neighbor is also upgrading and they were told by the OpenReach person that came to their home they needed access to our driveway to install it for them also which is a little strange as nobody asked us anything nor the previous owners, their date is literally the day before ours 09th July 2025 so hopfully now their are two of us they may do ther work or at least we will be here to find out what the problem is, presuming they send out annother permission to work order because we haven't recieved it yet.

@K.Findlay Would take another look at the btw checker as it looks like you are going to be underground connected, probably suspected that the duct is blocked and the destroying driveway is the in to fixing the cable duct feed. It's one off those YOU want FF then that's how your getting it from US, if you do not accept then bye bye. Doing neighbours next week helping her out, ordered Sept 24, sky eventually Accepted Nov24, faffed about commited Jan25 and OR civils done May25 with OR connecting Jun 18th 25 IF it ever happens, but she has the new hub said yesterday and the nightmare is all about to begin....
Had more BT vans and trucks here in the street over the last 6 weeks, and they have manage 4 homes ready, not ONE will let them dig back 100' or so to hit a pole and Fibre string from there, then again 60 years, well established and not ONE wants the diggers up there drives from the Front to the Back... Ready SEPT 2024 your having a Laugh OR....
