Openreach delay- NOW 6months!
I've read similar posts and want to share my bad experience and to get ideas whether to cancel my connection....
I applied for Sky full fibre broadband on 04th April 2025 and see the timeline below:
- Received a message that Sky hub 4.2 will be installed on 06th May,
- Sky tried to install but couldn't pass the cable in through the wall on 06th May.
- Received multple updating messages telling "Openreach needs permission from council"-> "Openreach needs to lay casings for cables" -> Openreach don't have necessary equipment" from 10th May up to now....
- There have been 2 escalations for Openreach (25th June & 10th Oct) without any success....
- Meanwhile openreach came to my property on 2nd Sep but couldn't perform this simple job. Next date given for completion of installation was on 14th Oct but they (Openreach) suddenly tells next date for installation is on 25th November (almost 8months from my broadband application!!!).
- I live in Poundbury, Dorchester and this land belongs to Kind Charles but can't believe that I have to wait 8 (or more)months for a fibre connection! (what a shame!!!).
So Sky, please atleast provide me with a TEMPORARY non-fibre broadband connection until this Openreach business is completed.
Thank you.

@FernandoK Depending on what is available in your area to get Broadband as a non fixed landline, you will have to do that by yourself, sky do not supply anything but fixed line broadband!
