Openreach FTTP deployment

I have noticed a contractor for OR pulling blue rope thrugh the Manhole Covers
in our town and ask to confirm it's for OR.

Very friendly guys advised, that our place is also going to get blue rope
and soon after also fibre cable and that the cable will go live from near by city
next month.

OR Availability Checker has a note "Build planned between now and Dec-2026".

How long did it take OR after pulling the blue rope/fibre cables thrugh the Manhole Covers
to have the service available to order in your town/city?

@cassally it varies greatly as there are a number of steps. However the key step is when work is done in your road either to install the fibre conections onto the poles serving your home if your phonecsystem is above ground or contractors dig up the road to run ducts in the pavement passing each house. A few weeks after that point orders normally open. It can be difficult to understand the logic of why area1 is complete before area 2 and on occasions a road or district can be missed in one phase but picked up later when whatever issue is sorted.
