Openreach Appointment Delayed

I ordered 900 MBPS gigafst broadbrand only package on 12th Oct and was given an Openreach appointment on 26th and was asked to confirm by sending a Yes message. I did reply to them and confirmed my availability on 26th october. After few hours i received another message saying my appointment has been moced now from 26th October to 10th December. I called the helpline to inform them that i need the connection urgently and they raised a complaint. But i just wanted to make sure that they take my complaint seriously and give me an appointment ASAP as i need the connection to work from home. Can the team escalate this post to the SKY team, please?

@AB06

The normal lead in time for an order is a minimum of 14 days (hence 12th to 26th). Now you've raised a complaint Sky will aim to respond and resolve it in 10 days but they actually have up to 6 weeks.

It's worth adding that Sky broadband discussed here is a domestic service and whilst Sky are apparently fine with its customers working from home using it for this purpose they won't receive any additional or quicker support.

Working from home doesn't see you as a priority as you are just a domestic customer, if you want a quicker installation then you might get it via Sky Broadband Business but it will be at a higher cost each month.

Not a high enough cost to get any faster attention though, I suspect: Sky Business Broadband is essentially the domestic product with an option for fixed external IP plus 4G failover and additional telephone sockets on the Hub, and I'd think it's installed by the regular Openreach people.

'Real' business provision is at least ten times the cost and managed on the wholesale network by a different bit of Openreach.
