Ongoing “Ghost Order” – No Hub, No Activation, No Resolution Since 20th August
I’ve been stuck in broadband limbo with Sky since I first placed an order on 20 August. Here’s the situation in full:
My original order became a “ghost order” in the system. No hub was ever dispatched, despite emails confirming activation on 4 Sept (later revised to 12 Sept).
Multiple agents have admitted it’s a ghost order issue, but nobody has taken ownership of resolving it. I’ve been promised new orders were placed, but my account still shows “awaiting dispatch” to this day.
Compensation under Ofcom’s Automatic Compensation Scheme is supposed to be running from 4 Sept (£6.10 per day), but that doesn’t solve the fact I’ve had no broadband service for over a month.
I’ve raised this via phone, email, Facebook chat, and Resolver, but keep getting told “wait for Order Recovery” with no timeframe.
Most recently (22 Sept) I was told the Order Recovery Team would call me back and text beforehand. No call or text ever came. This has happened multiple times now.
In the meantime, my family and I have had to pay extra for mobile data just to function at home — my wife’s work phone has even hit 300GB usage in a month because of this.
At this stage, I’m left without service, no firm activation date, and no accountability from Sky.
👉 Can someone from Sky please:
Confirm when the ghost order will finally be cancelled.
Confirm when a new order will be raised and dispatched (with a tracking number for the hub).
Provide a manager-level update with a realistic activation date.
This has been going on since August and is beyond acceptable.
