Odd speed inconsistency

Really confused how while using teams on laptop experiencing issues, do a speed test on laptop and mobile to see an abysmal 73mbps

so go on to sky, log in and do their test my connection - doesn't give you any actual data just a there's no problem.

rerun the speed tests and suddenly 406mbps

this isn't a one off either.

throttling maybe? Bare in mind all we are using internet for currently is work related web based / teams / etc no streaming services.

@CrazyP1  in the years I have been active on this forum many people have suggested Sky were throttling their connection. Oddly none of the many sites like thinkbroadband.com whose business is testing connections have ever reported anything. While of course thry could all be in a deep state cover up personally I think it is more likely an issue either in your network, an issue with the WiFi connection or possibly contention in the shared fibre link to the exchange or a combination of all 3.

The cost of carrying data iis tiny in comparison with the cost of buying connections from Openreach and City Fibre, providing support and all of the other business costs. The reputational risk is huge not to memtion the impact on the regulation by Ofcom.

Most business apps require minimal bandwidth in use unless you are downloading large files so is the slow down impacting your work? One issue that catches people out is background processes running when you dont expect them to be doing so especially if you use cloud storage. A large upload synchronising a changed file will inevitably impact the WiFi speeds available for speed testing.
